With regard to energy storage and E-mobility the importance of batteries with higher energy- and power density is constantly increasing. An important step to achieve this goal is the improvement of the cathode materials. Promising candidates represent the lithium manganese spinels.

Within the scope of this master thesis the synthesis of nickel substituted lithium manganese spinels (LiNixMn2-xO4- δ) will be optimized. Furthermore, the influence of the nickel substitution on the structural and electrochemical properties is investigated.
